OFFICIAL RACE RULES AND REGULATIONS



Article I – Distance and Surveying


  1. Each loft shall have their own aerial distance and measured by an authorized person appointed by the club and racing committee, using a Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment.

  2. All Members aerial distance are available on the official club site and can be copied or downloaded at www.crpc.cav.ph

  3. Any errors regarding loft distance must be brought to the attention of the Secretary or Racing Chairman.


Article II – Ring Bands


  1. All birds that will engaged on all club races must be banded with a recognized regulation sized seamless racing pigeon band. Oversize, stretched, mutilated or tampered bands will not be accepted.

  2. Young bird bands will be sold in the order that they are registered with the Treasurer and authorized band outlets.

  3. A no return, no exchange policy for all ring bands acquired will be implemented and must be paid on its due date. Ring bands are not automatically disqualifies the fancier to play in the said particular season. The fancier still has to pay his debts so he can continually play in the following racing seasons.


Article III – Race Entry


  1. All birds must return to the loft of the fancier in whose name and loft they are entered, to be qualified in the race. A bird that does not home to its registered loft will be disqualified and the corresponding entry fee will be forfeited.

  2. All members must submit an official entry form properly and filled up completely. All information must be written clearly to avoid errors in race results. All birds intended to be raced must be registered in the first lap and must be basket for the first lap to qualify for Overall honors.

  3. All birds must be the property of the person in whose name they are entered and must be registered as such. In case of partnerships, the parters should register jointly.

  4. In case a young bird has been transferred to or acquired by another member, they must inform the racing officers of the said transaction. It will be approved provided both members were able to buy the minimum birds required by the club.

  5. Racing officers have the right and power to disqualify or refuse the entry of sick birds upon their discretion. Said birds may still be eligible to race after it has recuperated.



Article IV – Counter marking


  1. All birds will not be counter marked until the fancier has paid all dues from the club.

  2. All birds must be at the designated time and place of counter marking. An allowance of thirty (30) minutes will be given to any fancier after the designated banding time has lapsed. Within this allowed time, each bird entered will be fined one peso per minute. After thirty minutes have lapsed, a competitor is banned from joining the particular race.

  3. Only authorized persons will be allowed to verify ring band numbers and list down all counter mark numbers in the race entry form.

  4. Birds accidentally released during actual counter marking can be retrieved by its owner even after the official time prescribed provided that the transporter is still in the designated counter marking place.

  5. The official registration/entry form and envelop containing counter mark stubs be kept sealed in an envelop by the person authorized by the members of the racing committee

  6. Once the birds are banded, no competitor is allowed to touch the birds unless authorized by the racing committee members.

  7. Once the birds are loaded in the racing truck, the club will not be liable for whatever accident the competing birds might encounter. If a bird accidentally escapes while being loaded by any club officer in the racing truck the said race will be declared as NO RACE.


Article V – Clocking of Birds


  1. Birds will be clocked using SMS System and WAP System. Globe/Smart and Sun Cellular are allowed to be used.

  2. Each members/players is allowed to use multiple mobile numbers in clocking of their birds and must be registered.

  3. The format for sms text must be strictly followed to avoid problems and disqualification.

  4. In case a bird is clocked several times due to wrong codes, the time of clocking will depend on the decision of the racing committee.

  5. Major errors in sms text of numbers of race codes would disqualify the bird in the particular lap unless the racing committee decides otherwise.

  6. A bird that homes without a race rubber/sticker will not register any speed. The speed of said bird will be equivalent to zero.

  7. For overnight races, time stops at sunset. Birds clocked after such time will have a clocking time of sunset.

  8. Clocking resumes at sunrise.

  9. Race rubber/sticker of all birds able to clock must be returned at a designated place depending on the cut-off time to be announced for each race. Rubber/sticker not returned within the prescribed time will result in the disqualification of the fancier of the particular lap. The birds clocking will be nullified.



Article VI – Race Result


  1. Regular young and old bird race, velocity will be the method used in determining the winning birds for each lap. Overall winners will be declared using point system then total velocity of the bird.

  2. Special and knock out races, point system will be the method used to determine the winning birds, in case of tie we will then used the total velocity of the bird to break the tie.

  3. Members/Players may view the unofficial result of the race by browsing the website at www.crpc.cav.ph. Real time viewing while race is in progress is also possible.

  4. Race result will be released one week after each race. If there are any errors in the race result, it must be brought to the attention of club officers within 72 hours of its release.

  5. If there are any protest(s) to be filled regarding a race, it must be brought to the attention of the Racing Committee members for deliberation. A fee of Php 1,000 is required for any protest filled. If the protest has merit, the fee will be returned. If the protest is considered frivolous, it will be forfeited in favor of the club.


Article VII – Tossing of the Race Birds


  1. At the discretion of the Racing Committee, the winning bird of each race will be tossed at the loft within seven(7) days from the completion of the race, weather permitting. The bird must return to the loft and enter the loft within three(3) hours and confirmed to be home to the winning loft by the Racing Committee or be disqualified barring extenuating circumstances.

  2. A member may request in writing the Racing Committee within five(5) days after the official results of a race are made public, any winning bird be tossed to verify that the said bird is homing to the correct loft.



Article VIII – Awards


  1. Trophies and diplomas will be awarded to the name of the registered members/players only.

  2. If only one bird is able to clock in an entire race all cash prize (overall cash prize for 1st to 3rd places) will be given to the fancier who flew the said bird.

  3. If a race is suddenly canceled because of any unforeseen or fortuitous event, the leading birds will receive the overall awards and prizes.


Article IX – Theft, Fraud and Cheating


  1. In case a bird enters another loft or captured by another member, said member is required to return the bird(s) to its registered owner.

  2. If theft, fraud or cheating is established, the person and loft location will be penalized for one(1) year and during this year the said person will not be allowed to participate in any of the club activities and gathering. The loft location will not be allowed for use by any club member.

  3. If theft, fraud or cheating is established for the second time, the said person and his loft location will be penalized for life.

  4. Complaints should be made in writing. The club officers will review the case and decide the appropriate penalty to be imposed.
